She helped redefine the character of the Black Woman on television by portraying the strong, intelligent, beautiful, and respectable Thelma on Good Times. Bern Nadette Stanis took time to talk with Pyramidwest about her background in the performing arts (studying at Juilliard), maneuvering through the industry while maintaing a solid moral compass and venturing into the role of an author. Her 2 books are: Relationships 101: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly and For Men.
