Kokane "Killing Fields" (Video)

Kokane is one of the West Coast's chief architects, from his rise as a solo-artist on Eazy-E's Ruthless Records and Snoop Dogg's Dogghouse Records, to his work with Above The Law and his countless guest appearances (Kokane is the most featured artist in the world---do the research) as his voice has been featured on over 35 million record sales over the course of his storied career (there is a reason they call him the hook master). From Dre, Snoop, Ice Cube, 50 Cent, Jadakiss, Eazy-E, Xzibit, Spice 1, Too Short, George Clinton, Boosty Collins, NWA, Young Buck etc, Kokane has lent his vocals to some of Hip-Hop's most acclaimed projects.

You know the voice, now get ready to know Kokane (again)! Armed with a new LP, Gimme All Mine, which will drop on 6-1-10 (on his own Bud E Boy Records in conjunction with Bonzi/Fontana) Kokane is back and sounding better then ever.

Dominique Larue x Idasa Tariq x DJBooth Presents "HerStory" EP

HerStory EP is a short but sweet project consisting of 6 songs all produced by Idasa Tariq. Dominique Larue is very conceptual on this project with Idasa's soulful sampling and hard drums that really brings this project to life. Dominique continues to bring dope lyrics that are very thought-provoking with Idasa providing a couple verses and Kansas emcee, Stik Figa comes through for a feature.

Dominique's goal with this project is to let people know that life is more than what TV tells us and to learn about HerStory or Their Story or Your Story or Our Story, we know enough about His Story. But don't get it twisted, this project is not a HerStory lesson, Larue just wants to get a couple things off her chest and encourage people to broaden their horizons. Please be advised that you are in for a treat with HerStory.

Eternia & MoSS ft. Joell Ortiz - It's Funny (Prod. By MoSS) AUDIO

In 2008, Eternia began recording her sophomore album with MoSS (a fellow Canadian), two years later the LP is complete and the title of the album says it all: "AT LAST!" Going where instinct took them, Eternia and MoSS’ collaborative union manifested into a sonically consistent album inspired by classic, boom-bap rap records.

"AT LAST" is entirely produced by MoSS (DJ Premier's production partner) and features appearances by some of Hip-hop’s elite: Joell Ortiz, Termanology, Reef The Lost Cauze, Tona, Maestro Fresh Wes, Rage, Rah Digga & Jean Grae. Eternia is at her finest over MoSS’ production, offering raw, confidant & vulnerable first-person perspectives over gritty and moving soundscapes. "AT LAST" promises to resonate in a musical arena where most rap albums fail to deliver beyond a ring-tone single.

Snoop Dog "Malice in Wonderland" (Film Review)

You can love him or hate him, but one thing is for certain when talking about Snoop Dog. He knows how to stay relevant.

Since his debut in the early nineties as a member of the legendary Death Row records, Snoop made a name for himself with through his nasally flow, dynamic lyrical ability and entertaining persona. Whether its movies or CDs, Snoop has maintained a presence in the hip-hop world.

His recent album “Malice in Wonderland” was met to rave reviews and sales. But don’t think that the Doggfather is ever satisfied. As the buzz for the “Malice in Wonderland” album cools, he hopes that the film version heats things back up.

Snoop takes a break from playing his usual roles (Pimp, reincarnated pimp or gangster) as he has many times before in films to play a super-hero for his new role and project.

A combination of Thriller, Sin City and Crush Groove, “Malice in Wonderland” showcases Snoops . Starring as Malice an anti-hero who lives in the dark underground of the city of “Wonderland” his Nemesis Caine (played by Hawthorne James of ‘5 Heartbeats Fame’”) Caine has taken over the city, running on a platform of ‘change’” Part of this change is removing Malice from the city.

When it looks like Caine and his followers would take over the city, Malice goes into action, partnering up with a slew of hip-hop and mainstream stars like Soulja Boy Tell’em, Michael Coylar, Jaimie Foxx, Diplo, Xzibit, Dj Quick and more to fight the take over.

The movie plays out as smoothly as its accompanying soundtrack “More Malice” does. Songs like “Pronto” featuring Soulja Boy and “Up-Side-Down” ft. Nippsey Hussle and Problem adds humor to the movie while “I Wanna Rock” ft. cameos by Jaimie Foxx and others

Snoop Dog doesn’t need a fountain of youth in order to stay alive in this world of Mp3’s and Itunes as long as he continues to out think his opponents. “Malice in Wonderland” is another trick that this old dog has mastered.

Artist Spotlight: G.Q. Bugs

It’s been said that when people hear his music, it reminds them of "Golden Era Rap". With a contemporary clean-cut style, and down-to-earth persona, "GQ" -- born Joel Feliciano -- is bringing wickedness with his lyrical content and flow. With the high admirations of artists such as Joe Budden, Nas and, more recently J.Cole, GQ is destined for victory.

GQ was born in the Bronx, and raised in Spanish Harlem. GQ knew he wanted to be a rapper when he first heard AZ's verse off of Nas's "Life's a B****" track from the 'Illmatic' album. He later moved to Kingston, New York, where his older cousin exposed him to an actual music studio at the age of 15.

In 2002 GQ formerly known as "Bugsy" went to the next level and came out with a music project called "The Coalition". Shortly after, GQ came out with another music project called 'The Wait is Over' with childhood friend/fellow rapper Cezar Capone and formed T.C.U. . After the success of the two independent releases, GQ decided to take his solo career to the next level by dropping a mixtape called 'Street Monopoly Vol. 1.' "This had much success and got me a strong fan base," GQ said. The mixtape led to fans following him on the Internet and a spot in Source Magazine's June 2009 Spit 16 series. In addition, GQ has also had the opportunity to show his versatility by modeling in XXL's October 2008's Jay-z Edition.

His forthcoming mixtape The Transition is set to drop on the 26th of January 2010; with tracks such as “Black Out” and “Hiatus”, it will blow Hip Hop fans away. “I called the mixtape the transition, because I play a lot of diff roles with my music," GQ said. "I'm my own manager, artist, fan, and hustler. I play a lot of diff roles so its like the transition from one to the other, and its also saying I am in transition from an up and coming to a star. “

With his different variables of music, GQ manages to paint a picture with his lyrics. "I do music to see how many people think like me," he said. "For example, when someone says one of my raps is crazy because they were thinking that same thing in they head, or when they feel they are the only person who thinks something is popping, and then I say it in a rhyme, it brings validation that I'm connecting with the people".

SoulStice- "Strange Kind Of Love" (Video)

New video from SoulStice, but rather then let me explain it, who better then SoulStice himself.

""Strange Kinda Love" is a song about universal love and tolerance. Since it was originally released, it's won 4 songwriting contests, including the Billboard World Song Contest. In it, I reflect on my experience as part of an interracial couple and recall that it wasn't long ago that my wife and I couldn't have gotten married in the US. Today's "free love" struggle centers around the LGBT community and same-sex marriage. I'm happy to report that since I wrote this song, 5 states and the District of Columbia now issue same-sex marriage licenses and 5 more provide equivalent spousal rights. We've got a long way to go, but we're moving in the right direction."
